Why People Think Experts Are A Good Idea

All About Photography History.

Just like many words in specialty field, the word photography came to be from the Greek language based on 2 words: photos and graphein. The first word, which is photos, means light while graphein means to draw. Photography, as a word dates back in the early 1830s. Even so, you should not assume that people were not taking pictures before then. Human beings knew and practiced photography even 2000 years prior to the formation of the official word. People who lived in ancient Chinese communities as well as the Greek were involved in this activity. These early photographs are very different from what you can achieve using your smartphone now. Nonetheless, it is rather fascinating not to forget how rich it is. You should continue reading to learn about the changes that has happened from the time of camera obscura to smartphone. The people living on this earth discovered the process of picture creation with the use of a dark chamber and boring a hole on one wall about two millennials before.

With an image standing outside the dark chamber, the image was projects on its anterior walls through the hole. This is what is referred to as camera obscura. Fast forward to late 16th century and there were lenses that were helping in the projection and they were in the possession of scientists and the inventors. The picture images were created by tracing the subjects and then filling them in. You cannot talk about lithography without mentioning Nicephore Niepce. If you are wondering what lithography is, it is basically the process of drawing the projected images on the lithographic stone. After the process wa completed, the image would be printed in ink. Heliography came to be in 1822 courtesy of Niepce. In this process, Niepce depended on sunlight in drawing these images. Niepce used heliography in copying the oil engravings to a number of surfaces including glass, pewter plates, stone as well zinc. Attempts to come up with paper prints through the technique did not succeed. Louis-Jacques- Mande Daguerre became Niepce’s partner in 1829. He was working towards shortening the amount of needed in the exposure process. Niepce’s partner continued the work after his death and he was able to achieve the goal. These images were developed on iodized silver plates then exposed to mercury vapor. Louis-Jacques- Mande Daguerre was able to develop his images much more quickly. The problem is that the images could not last for long. Such images would end up dissolving eventually if they came into contact with light. In 183, Louis-Jacques- Mande Daguerre was able to make permanent images.
